Key to success
The basic key to success in this case was the appropriate choice of buyer and a concrete presentation of the attractiveness and true value of the sold companies. The size of the C SYSTEM and its diverse branch network, which is also available to the Český Servis, required proper due diligence. We were ready to devote a significant amount of time to the preparation phase, including detailed examination of the companies’ operations on the practical level. This aided us a lot to meet all the regulatory aspects in the end.
We clearly communicated the whole process to all representatives of the buyer — both the fund’s shareholders and its managers. We have not underestimated the above-mentioned key elements of preparation, and we have factually “integrated” into the structures of the sold companies during the transaction.
Challenges along the way
We have faced several challenges. Negotiations on the transaction began at the time of the growing COVID-19 pandemic, which insinuated the need to adapt to the arising restrictions, which had an impact on the transaction negotiations and affected many practical aspects. During the preparation of the transaction, two subdivisions have been gradually split. Those were not part of the transaction and remained with the original owner, who continues to focus on their development. Our task was to coordinate this agenda and ensure its successful management.
